Events set in motion long ago move toward a conclusion.
Full recap
Walter White flees to New Hampshire with Saul Goodman after evading arrest, where they meet Ed, the vacuum cleaner repairman who provides new identities and relocation services. In a warehouse room, Saul and Walt discuss their futures; Walt demands a list of mercenaries to kill Jack Welker’s neo-Nazi gang for Hank’s death, but Saul advises him to surrender to protect Skyler and the children. Walt attempts to intimidate Saul using his "Heisenberg" persona but is weakened by a chemo-related coughing fit, failing to coerce Saul into joining his revenge plan. Saul departs for Nebraska, leaving Walt alone before Ed drives him to a secluded cabin in New Hampshire, known as the Granite State.
Ed warns Walt that leaving the cabin risks capture and promises monthly visits with food and supplies. Months pass with Walt living in isolation, his only contact being Ed’s monthly trips. Ed informs Walt that Skyler is using her maiden name and working part-time as a taxi dispatcher. Walt packs $100,000 into a box and walks into town, stopping at a local bar where he pays a barmaid to call Walter Jr.’s school, pretending to be Marie. Walt tries to reconcile with Walter Jr., who now calls himself Flynn and blames Walt for Hank’s death; Flynn angrily wishes Walt dead and ends the call. Dejected, Walt calls the DEA to surrender, leaving the phone off the hook so they can trace his location.
Meanwhile, Jack Welker’s gang raids Marie Schrader’s house, finding Jesse Pinkman’s confession tape. Jack wants to kill Jesse for informing, but Todd Alquist insists Jesse should cook meth to impress Lydia Rodarte-Quayle, whom Todd has become infatuated with. Todd and gang members break into Skyler’s house, threatening her to stay silent after she once met Lydia. Lydia initially plans to end the meth operation but reconsiders when Todd reveals the gang’s meth is now 92% purity due to Jesse’s cooking. Jesse attempts to escape but is recaptured and forced to watch Todd murder Andrea Cantillo on her front porch after Jesse looks on in horror. Jesse is now confined to the compound, threatened that his captors will kill Andrea’s son, Brock, if he disobey.
Back in New Hampshire, Walt watches a TV interview where Charlie Rose speaks with Gretchen and Elliott, his former business partners from Gray Matter. Both lie and distance themselves from Walt, denying his contributions to their company’s success. Roused to anger by their betrayal, Walt abandons his plan to surrender and flees the cabin before police arrive, setting out on one last mission. The episode ends with Walt driving away, his destination unclear—possibly targeting Gretchen, Elliott, or the Nazis.
