Dexter Episode 29: Turning Biminese

Dexter learns from Miguel about Ethan Turner, a wealthy husband who has escaped justice after killing two wives for money, and Dexter decides to make Ethan his next target. At the same time, Rita pushes Dexter to leave his apartment and start house-hunting with her, which leads to tension between them because Dexter is reluctant to give up his place.

Debra continues investigating Freebo’s disappearance with Anton’s help. They track down Wendell, a nervous young man connected to Freebo, and Debra tries to get him to talk. Wendell resists at first, and his mother refuses to let him get involved out of fear that Freebo’s enemies could hurt them, but Debra keeps pressing for information.

Miami Metro is pulled into a new murder investigation after The Skinner kills another woman, forcing cooperation with the Sheriff’s Department and bringing Ramón Prado into the case. Masuka also contributes observations that earn him some respect from the team.

Dexter follows Ethan out of town, traveling to Bimini on a cruise ship rather than the fishing trip he told Rita about. Miguel considers joining him but is delayed by a court hearing. Dexter ultimately finds Ethan, incapacitates him, and kills him.

While Dexter is away, Rita has a medical emergency and is rushed to the hospital. Dexter cannot be reached, and the situation leaves everyone worried about her and the baby. He eventually makes it to the hospital, where Rita’s condition improves, and he apologizes to her. He then tells Rita he is ready to be with her and agrees to give up his apartment, which he later offers to Debra.

Afterward, Debra revisits Wendell and learns that Freebo owed money to someone, suggesting another possible lead in the case. Unbeknownst to Debra, someone is watching the meeting from a distance.

The episode ends with Miguel confronting Dexter after looking into Dexter’s and Turner’s whereabouts. Miguel realizes Dexter killed Ethan, and instead of turning on him, he expresses approval and offers support.
