Dexter Episode 35: I Had a Dream

Dexter spends his wedding day trying to survive a much bigger problem than the ceremony: Miguel has become a threat, and Dexter begins planning how to kill him without getting caught.

At the start, Dexter is unexpectedly abducted and locked in a car trunk, where he assumes Ramón is behind it. He escapes, bursts out of the trunk, and punches the man waiting outside, only to discover it is Masuka, who has brought him to his bachelor party at a bar. The party continues there, and Miguel arrives to give a best-man speech.

As the wedding approaches, Dexter keeps thinking about Miguel and briefly considers killing him on the wedding day itself. He then shifts to a more careful plan: he decides he can frame the murder on the Skinner instead. Meanwhile, Debra comes to Dexter for advice about Anton, and Dexter tells her that Harry once had an affair with an informant, though he does not reveal the full identity of that woman.

Later, LaGuerta starts investigating Miguel more directly after suspecting him in Ellen Wolf’s disappearance and murder. She meets with Miguel, checks his car for clues, and asks Dexter to run a blood test under her name after finding hair from the vehicle. Miguel realizes LaGuerta is still digging into Ellen’s case, and the hair turns out to be Ellen’s, which confirms her suspicion that Miguel was involved. Dexter withholds that result from LaGuerta because he still wants Miguel for himself.

Once Dexter realizes Miguel may kill LaGuerta, he sets a trap by making Miguel believe he is meeting LaGuerta to hear a confession about Ellen’s murder. Dexter sedates him and takes him to Ellen’s house, where he prepares the kill table. Miguel tries to appeal to Dexter, calling himself Dexter’s brother, but Dexter rejects him, revealing that he killed his own brother and that Miguel also killed Oscar. Miguel responds with rage and insults Dexter, and Dexter kills him by strangling him with a wire.
