Dexter Episode 87: What's Eating Dexter Morgan?
Dexter continues his manhunt for The Brain Surgeon. Dr. Vogel tries to prove to Dexter that he’s perfect as a psychopath. While Debra’s PTSD kicks in and her guilt from the past begins to creep up.

Harrison’s “blood” scare turns out to be a box of cherry popsicles, while Dexter and Dr. Vogel keep hunting the Brain Surgeon and narrow their search to one of Vogel’s former patients, Ron Galuzzo. Dexter follows Galuzzo, discovers that he is not the Brain Surgeon, and finds evidence that Galuzzo is a cannibal before killing him.
Deb spirals further, drinks heavily, gets picked up for a DUI, and later tries to confess to killing LaGuerta, but Dexter and Quinn stop her before the confession goes through. Dexter brings Dr. Vogel in to help, and Vogel ends up staying with Deb for psychiatric treatment.
At Miami Metro, Quinn’s distraction over Deb causes friction with Jamie and makes Batista doubt Quinn’s readiness for the sergeant exam. Meanwhile, the real Brain Surgeon sends disturbing trophies to Vogel, confirming that the threat is still active even after the case appears to have been closed.
Vogel also probes Dexter’s psychology, noting how unusual his attachment to Deb is and questioning why he did not kill her after she learned his secret.
