FROM Episode 39: The Calm Before

The town reaches a turning point as Boyd and the others set a dangerous plan in motion: Jade and Tabitha head into the tunnels to recover the children’s bones while everyone else prepares to pull down the bottle tree above ground. At the same time, several side conflicts flare up inside town, including a warning from the Boy in White to Victor, a tense confrontation over what the plan means, and an ominous move involving Fatima and a poisoned drink.

Boyd, Tabitha, Jade, Victor, and the rest of the townspeople are all focused on the same urgent goal, but they do not agree on how to get there or who should be involved. Tabitha insists that she and Jade are the only ones who should go into the tunnels to dig up the bones, and Boyd accepts that plan.

A warning reaches Victor through the Boy in White, who tells him not to let the bottle tree come down. Victor tries to stop the plan, but Boyd and Kenny restrain him and lock him up so he cannot interfere.

Elsewhere in town, Clara is drawn into a secretive arrangement and gives Fatima a drink that has been tainted, setting up another hidden threat inside the community. Elgin also finds an old photograph of Sophia, which leads to a tense moment when the door is locked and people are trapped inside.

Jade and Tabitha enter the tunnels with only limited protection, while the others prepare to remove the bottle tree. They find the chamber with the children’s bones, confirming that the visions and warnings they have been following are tied to something real.

As the bones are uncovered, the creatures in the tunnels begin to stir and move toward Jade and Tabitha, bringing the episode to a precarious and dangerous point.
