FROM Episode 8: Broken Windows, Open Doors

Boyd starts the episode preparing to leave town, still shaken by the violence at Colony House and Father Khatri’s death, while Kenny tries to keep the town from unraveling. Kenny tells Boyd that most of the Colony House residents have been moved into homes around town and suggests addressing everyone directly, since the town needs to hear from its leader.

Boyd is visibly torn about whether he should go through with his planned trip. He meets Kenny’s plea with reluctant agreement, but after that he goes to the church basement and finds Sara hidden there. He takes Sara out into the woods, telling her they are going for a walk, and then leads her to a small shack, where he leaves her inside while he heads back to town to finish a few things.

Back in town, the residents are on edge and trying to recover from the Colony House attack. Kenny steps further into a leadership role, helping organize people and supplies while the town adjusts to the aftermath. Jim continues pushing the idea of building a radio tower, and the town’s energy shifts toward trying to create some kind of future rather than only surviving the night.

Fatima encourages Ellis to reconcile with his father before it becomes too late, and the episode shows the emotional strain that the attack has placed on several relationships in town. Boyd later puts handcuffs on Sara, ending the episode with her under his control and the town still trying to regain its footing.
