Full recap
Boyd takes Sara deeper into the forest than he has ever gone, following the same strange guidance that has been driving their search. Along the way, Boyd’s frustration with Sara rises as she keeps questioning where they are going, but he still leads her to the area where he previously found the talismans.
Back in town, Jim’s confidence in the radio project starts to slip as problems with the tower’s power become a concern. Jade works on solving the power issue, while the town’s residents keep preparing for the radio effort. Donna is under heavy strain from the pressure of keeping everyone together, and her stress escalates into a breakdown after the community suffers an unexpected loss.
At Colony House, the residents are forced to sleep in the post office/jail for safety, and the mood there becomes tense and unsettled. One resident, Eric, dies by suicide, which hits Kristi hard and leaves her asking Kenny to come to her if he ever reaches a breaking point himself. Kenny also checks in on his mother and continues to support the town’s day-to-day efforts.
Tabitha is shown struggling with a nightmare and continuing to dig in the basement until she reaches the bottom of what she has been working on. She, Julie, and Ethan look over Victor’s drawings, and Ethan treats the drawings like clues to a larger story, suggesting they may help explain what is happening.
In the woods, Boyd marks trees to help them find their way back and asks Sara what the voices told her. Sara says the voices warned her that if she did not kill Ethan, her brother and everyone else would die. Boyd and Sara hear a strange clinking sound and discover glass bottles hanging from trees, which deepens the mystery of the forest. Soon after, Sara is overwhelmed by the voices in her head and collapses.
Sara later wakes up in a tent with Boyd in the woods, and Boyd shows her a bottle he recovered from one of the trees; inside is a piece of paper with a number written on it. Their tent then begins shaking violently, followed by a horn blast and a bright white light outside the tent, ending the episode on an eerie and unexplained note.
