Hunter x Hunter Episode 129: Formidable Enemy x and x Clear Objective

Meruem rushes toward the palace with Youpi and Pouf, still missing some of his memories, while the strange aura-like effect Knuckle placed on him continues to bother him. Pouf interprets Meruem’s behavior as a warning and immediately worries about what the King may remember at the palace.

At the palace, Palm tells the others that the King is almost there, and the group quickly realizes Pouf’s real goal is not Meleoron but Komugi. Killua uses that realization to force Pouf into a choice: either go after Komugi in the open or chase Meleoron underground, making it clear that they are trying to identify his true target. Pouf chooses to move directly against Komugi.

Pouf’s clones search the palace while Killua stays with Komugi, and a tense cat-and-mouse struggle follows. Killua keeps Pouf from reaching her by using his speed and blocking his approaches, while Pouf tries different ways to get an opening, including attempting to make Komugi react so he can exploit the moment. Killua sees through the tactic and continues to protect her.

Back on the way in, Meruem reaches the palace. Pouf speaks to him as though the King’s destiny is to rule over humanity and all other species, but Meruem does not fully accept what Pouf is saying because his mind keeps turning back toward Komugi.

Pouf then notices the Gungi board and pieces in the palace. Alarmed that they might trigger Meruem’s missing memories, he sends his clones away from Killua and Komugi and orders them to remove the Gungi items before the King can see them again.

Meanwhile, Gon and Pitou continue traveling through the woods and finally arrive at a mansion where Kite is being kept. For the first time in the episode, they reach the place they have been seeking.
