Hunter x Hunter Episode 130: Magic x of x Despair

Meruem returns to the palace with Youpi and Pouf, while Pouf’s clones frantically search for and hide anything tied to the board game and the human girl that might trigger the King’s memories. Knuckle and Meleoron remain hidden among the gathered humans as the King passes overhead, unnoticed.

Inside the palace area, Killua continues carrying Komugi and meets up with Palm. Palm reports that Gon and the flying ant are approaching the Peijing hiding place, while elsewhere Welfin contacts Pitou by phone and says he and Bloster have taken Komugi back. At the same time, Pitou is brought to the room where Kite is being kept.

Gon arrives with Pitou and demands that it heal Kite, treating their earlier promise as something Pitou must fulfill. Pitou first tries to stall by asking Gon for his name, then directly states that Kite is already dead. Gon is stunned as Kite’s body is shown kneeling in the room, and when that body collapses to the floor, Gon’s shock turns into a blank, devastated silence.

A little earlier in the episode, Pouf’s clones are shown trying to keep the King from remembering the human girl by removing the game board and pieces connected to her, and Pouf also explains the purpose of the human-filled cocoons to delay Meruem and keep his attention elsewhere. The episode ends with the emotional impact of Gon seeing the truth about Kite’s condition hanging over him.
