Full recap

Leorio is poised to become the next Hunter Association Chairman after the 8th vote, but the episode ends with Pariston using the moment to force a new decision process that keeps the contest alive. At the same time, Gon's condition is reversed at the hospital through Alluka's mysterious power, leading to a long-awaited reunion with friends and family.

The episode opens with the continued chairman election vote count. Beans has tallied the 8th vote, and the results are announced to the crowd: turnout is high enough to satisfy the election requirement again, with 606 of 635 hunters voting. The final standings of this round place Leorio in first, Pariston in second, Mizaistom in third, and Cheadle in fourth, but no one has reached the threshold needed to win outright, so a final vote between the top two is prepared.

While the election is unfolding, the scene shifts to the hospital where Alluka wakes up beside Killua. Killua asks her to heal Gon, and Alluka's other personality takes over as he carefully brings out Gon's severely damaged arm so the healing can begin. The process releases an overwhelming burst of light and power that spreads through the hospital and is felt far beyond it, causing alarm and attention from people elsewhere in the city.

From a nearby building, Illumi watches the display of power with intense interest and becomes fixated on controlling it. Back at the election, Pariston questions Leorio about what he would do if chosen as chairman, and Leorio says he only wants help saving Gon and has no broader plan for the Association. Pariston then uses his position to call an emergency council and proposes abolishing the current Hunter Exam system, forcing the Association into further debate and preventing the election from ending cleanly.

The healing at the hospital continues and completes, and Gon’s condition changes dramatically as the power settles. As the consequences of Alluka’s ability become clear, the atmosphere turns from urgency to celebration, with the people around Gon reacting to his recovery. Near the end of the episode, Gon and Leorio finally reunite, giving the episode its emotional centerpiece and fulfilling the “reunion” part of the title.

Meanwhile, the chairman race remains unresolved in practice despite Leorio’s position in the vote, because Pariston’s maneuvering changes the direction of the Association’s next decision. The episode closes on the sense that both the election and Gon’s return have reshaped the situation for everyone involved.
