Full recap
Gon and Hisoka’s match reaches its conclusion, with Gon finally returning the Hunter Exam tag he had owed Hisoka since Zevil Island.
The episode continues the arena fight from the previous episode, with Gon pressing Hisoka harder than before and landing a clean punch to the face. The referee rules that hit as a critical blow, which briefly gives Gon the lead on the scorecards. The announcer and spectators are confused by the ruling, since Hisoka appears largely unfazed, but the referee sticks to his decision.
Hisoka then turns the tables by using his own abilities to dominate the rest of the bout. Gon keeps attacking anyway, determined to finish the match on his own terms, but Hisoka remains in control and wins by a wide margin. Afterward, the referee explains that he was trying to keep the fight from becoming fatal, which is why he had been giving Gon favorable calls during the match.
Once the fight is over, Gon fulfills his promise and returns Hisoka’s tag from the Hunter Exam, paying back the “debt” he owed him. Gon and Killua then say goodbye to Wing and Zushi, leaving Heaven’s Arena behind. With their training there finished, the two decide to head to Whale Island and visit Gon’s home, Mito, next.
