Hunter x Hunter Episode 80: Evil x and x Terrible

A young boy named Gyro endures a childhood of abuse from his alcoholic father, living in fear of beatings and disciplining himself to avoid making noise or wetting the bed. Despite this, he idolizes his father, believing his father cared for him during a life-threatening fever at age five and never forced him to leave home.

Gyro's perception shatters when a coworker reveals that his father only kept him for the money he brought in, and a kind neighbor, not his father, cared for him during his fever. Enraged, Gyro attacks the coworker but is overpowered and beaten. His father walks past without offering help. Gyro realizes his father never cared for him and his teachings were selfish manipulations. Feeling the world has given him nothing, Gyro kills his father with a hammer.

Nine years later, Gyro rules NGL, aiming to spread suffering through the drug D². Currently, a squad led by Yunju eliminates Gyro’s soldiers and takes control of the drug factory.

In NGL, Chimera Ants relentlessly slaughter humans. Pokkle's team observes helplessly. After hearing from Cheetu about soldier ants killed by firearms, Colt examines a corpse with Peggy, discovering that some humans possess special abilities the Chimera Ants lack. Colt believes these skills can be assimilated. Peggy explains human learning aptitude and warns that if the Chimera Ants understand the Queen makes them vulnerable, humanity will try to eradicate her. Colt, angered, vows to defend their Queen and Reina, despite uncertainty about Reina's identity.

Pokkle and his team, unable to contact other Hunters, decide to evacuate NGL. Their escape is ambushed by Chimera Ants. After Pekuba is brutally killed, Pokkle eliminates one Chimera Ant with his Nen ability. He then faces a spider-like Ant, who catches his arrow and demonstrates an understanding of Nen. The Spider-Ant attacks, forcing Pokkle to evade, but Balda is caught in webbing and killed when the Spider-Ant bites off his head. Pokkle furiously punches the Spider-Ant but collapses after being stung by Zazan’s tail. Zazan orders Pokkle's body taken to the Queen, believing he contains the nutrients of a thousand humans.

Ponzu escapes and sends a distress signal to nearby Hunters using her bees. While fleeing, she is ambushed and shot by a gun-toting Ant, who then devours her. Kite, Gon, and Killua receive Ponzu's signal. Kite asks if they will join him in facing the danger. He instructs Stick and Podungo to evacuate NGL and report to the Hunter Association. Kite, Gon, and Killua race to the location, finding Ponzu's blood and torn clothing. They discover a bullet linked to NGL, and Kite realizes the massacre was perpetrated by Chimera Ants. Kite expresses apprehension about the catastrophic combination of NGL and the Chimera Ants.
