Hunter x Hunter Episode 85: Light x and x Darkness

Gon, Killua, and Kite continue heading toward the Chimera Ant nest while Kite keeps using his Nen ability to track their target’s movements. As they get close, Kite senses that something is wrong, and Neferpitou suddenly appears, showing a speed and strength far beyond what the group expected.

Kite immediately tells Gon and Killua to run, but Pitou’s attack is too fast for them to react cleanly. Kite protects them long enough for Killua to get Gon away, and the scene makes clear that Kite is fighting to buy them time rather than to win outright.

After the escape, Killua carries Gon out of the danger zone while Gon remains unconscious. Killua is shaken by what happened and believes Kite may be in serious trouble, but he does not stop moving because the situation is still dangerous.

Killua then meets Chairman Netero, who has arrived with two other professional Hunters to deal with the Chimera Ant threat. Netero explains that they have sent Hunters into the area and makes it clear that anyone who wants to continue fighting the Chimera Ants has to prove their strength first.

The episode also shifts to the Chimera Ant side, where several ants are summoned to assemble in the nest for an important announcement. Their leaders and squad members are informed that those who can endure severe pain will be rewarded with greater power, setting up the forced Nen awakening plan.
