Full recap

Gon, separated from Killua, is attacked by two Chimera Ants. He notes that his opponents are nocturnal hunters. One of the Ants, a Bat-like creature, feints an attack, allowing a second, bird-like Ant called Hollow, to attack from behind. Gon realizes the Bat's loud wings masked Hollow's approach. Gon flees, and Hollow confidently states he can hear Gon's every move. As Gon runs, he senses an attack from Hollow but cannot evade it, leading to another strike from the Bat. Gon deduces that Hollow uses its feathers to distract him while the Bat attacks, combining long and short-range tactics.

Gon changes his strategy, focusing on the Bat. Hollow attacks with a feather, but Gon keeps his attention on the Bat's movements. As he prepares to punch, the Bat evades using ultrasonic waves. The Bat telepathically communicates to Hollow that Gon can predict her moves, and Hollow observes Gon's aura growing. Gon prepares a technique, and while Hollow feels threatened, the Bat assures him they can evade it using her ultrasonic waves to anticipate his move. She tries to approach Gon silently by flying high to mask her wing beats. As she dives, the Bat is confident because Gon remains still. As she gets closer, Gon slowly turns and shouts loudly into her ears. The Bat, disoriented, flies away. Gon sends an attack, but Hollow, now in a "Gorilla Mode," deflects it with a thrown rock.

Hollow throws another rock at Gon, who barely evades it before being punched. Gon realizes there's another ultrasound causing his head to spin. A mysterious figure named Meleoron watches from the shadows, finding Gon's situation amusing. Gon uses a technique to enhance his sight, but the Bat counters with "Ultrasonic Dissonance." Gon is distracted and punched again by Hollow. While Hollow continues to attack, Gon tears a small piece of cloth from his pocket and covers his ears. This helps him locate Hollow by its aura, but he only senses a feather, and the real Hollow is behind him, delivering more punches.

Gon attacks Hollow directly with punches, but the Bat disrupts them with her ultrasonic waves. Gon knows he can defeat Hollow with a powerful punch but fears the Bat might escape and warn other Ants. Hollow covers his ears so the Bat can fully utilize her ultrasonic abilities, while Gon shrouds himself in aura and continues attacking. He concludes that their weakness is their need to move in sync. He grabs a log and swings it at Hollow in front of him. He continues swinging until the log reaches behind him, hitting the Bat and sending her flying into a wall, defeating her. Hollow is surprised that Gon used their combination against them.

Hollow runs away, and Gon pursues him, using his ultimate technique. The remaining Ant is hit and knocked westward. Meleoron is impressed and thinks Gon could be useful. Elsewhere, Killua proceeds with his plan, convincing villagers that their leader has been dethroned and that soldiers are slaughtering people. The villagers believe him and flee as instructed.

A powerful Ant named Neferpitou senses a change in her plans. She suspects an assassin is responsible, acting as a decoy. She rushes into the palace for advice. Another Ant, Shaiapouf, is playing the violin and tells Neferpitou it is not a diversion, so they cannot leave. Neferpitou reluctantly agrees, noting that the intruders seem careful not to be caught by her. Shaiapouf replies that it must be an act to draw Neferpitou out, emphasizing their mission to protect the King and let other Chimera Ants handle the rest.

Three more Ants, Hagya, Flutter, and Hina, arrive and ask Shaiapouf if it is their turn. Neferpitou instructs them to kill whoever is disabling her puppets. Hagya agrees, and Neferpitou gives him a cellphone, explaining they cannot use telepathy. She will update them on their target's location. After they leave, another Ant, Menthuthuyoupi, questions if they can trust Hagya. Neferpitou states she doesn't trust Hagya and his group, as they are trying to earn the Royal Guards' trust. Shaiapouf adds that they are likely looking for an opportunity to dispose of the Royal Guards.

Back with Killua, he plans his next move on a nearby village. He runs, but encountering an obstacle, he changes direction. Two other individuals, Knuckle and Shoot, worry about an Ant named Cheetu, who is heading towards East Gorteau. A Hunter who replaced another has failed to capture Cheetu. Knuckle confirms he is in a bad mood because over 300 Chimera Ants have been captured, but none were Squadron Leaders, according to information from another Ant named Colt. He knows Cheetu is going to East Gorteau because the King is there. If more Chimera Ants join the King, it will be harder to draw away the Royal Guards. Shoot decides to contact another Hunter named Morel. Morel is frustrated and tells another Hunter, Knov, that the Association sent a different Hunter instead. Knov turns on the television, where an announcement from someone named Diego declares martial law in East Gorteau. As soldiers march, Killua appears and remarks that he can handle all of them, even tanks and fighter jets.
