Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 2: For Myself

Gojo demonstrates his power by fighting Sukuna's possessed body for 10 seconds while Yuji watches, then subdues Yuji afterward. Yuji realizes he can hear Sukuna's voice constantly, finding it annoying.

Gojo explains Yuji's dire situation: Sukuna has twenty fingers scattered across the world, and Yuji has consumed one. According to jujutsu law, Yuji should be executed immediately, but Megumi requested otherwise and Gojo agreed. Instead, Gojo offers Yuji a choice—be executed now or consume all twenty of Sukuna's fingers before his execution. This delays his death sentence while allowing the jujutsu world to eliminate Sukuna's curse entirely.

Yuji visits his injured classmate Iguchi at the hospital, where Iguchi remains unconscious. Sasaki blames herself for the incident, but Yuji takes responsibility for picking up the cursed object. He assures her that someone will heal Iguchi tomorrow.

At a mortuary, Gojo meets Yuji as he collects his grandfather's ashes. Yuji makes a decisive choice and swallows a second finger. Though Sukuna growls inside him, Yuji maintains control, convincing Gojo that Yuji is special.

At Jujutsu High School, the principal, Masamichi Yaga, scolds Gojo and Megumi for being late. When Yuji introduces himself, Yaga asks why he wants to enroll. Yuji initially claims it's because of a dying request from his grandfather, but Yaga rejects this answer as insufficient.

Yaga summons a cursed corpse doll infused with his curse technique and orders it to attack Yuji until he provides a genuine answer. The doll overwhelms Yuji with speed, but the pressure forces him to confront his true motivation. Yuji finally declares that consuming Sukuna is something only he can do, and he cannot ignore people dying because he chose to run away. He vows to save as many lives as possible by collecting the fingers, even if it costs him his life. Yuji subdues the doll, and Yaga accepts his answer, officially admitting him to the school.

Gojo shows Yuji to his dorm room, which is next to Megumi's. Gojo warns that the path ahead won't be easy. The next day, they plan to meet their third classmate at the station.
