Megumi crushes multiple curses with his sword and Divine Dog: Totality, but the domain persists as a stronger curse—resembling one they fought before—emerges from a new tunnel, snaps his sword, and knocks him unconscious with a powerful strike. As hands emerge from the walls and pull Nobara in, she insists on handling it herself and urges Megumi to focus; a cursed user then drags her out, surprised she's a girl and offering not to hurt her if she flees.

In a flashback, Gojo advises a cautious Megumi during training to sometimes be "greedy" in battle or risk dying alone, emphasizing survival as an individual pursuit. Megumi recalls his deal with the Zenin clan under Gojo's guidance, his sister Tsumiki's sudden coma from a curse during her third year, and his growing sense of duty to help others despite initially finding her annoying. He pleads under the bridge for Tsumiki to wake up after his exorcism efforts.
