Nanami instructs Yuji, Megumi, and Ino to investigate the veil preventing sorcerers from entering Shibuya, while he heads to find Ijichi at the station. The trio arrives at the barrier's standout location outside it, where three curse users guard it; Yuji and Megumi engage **Jiro Awasaka**, while Ino faces **Granny Ogami** and her unnamed grandson, who boast about acting freely without fear of Gojo.

Megumi notices Awasaka's body remains unnaturally clean from impacts despite cursed energy reinforcement and demands he stand, which he does while cursing the lack of pity for the elderly. As both activate their jujutsu, Megumi tells Yuji they cannot waste time, and Yuji agrees. Megumi tests attacks: strong ones like his shikigami's blows do minimal damage, but **Kaichi**'s drill-like projectile carves a large section from Awasaka's defending arm.

Ino's fight intensifies as he summons **Reiki**, generating black liquid to slide around and strike the grandson with enhanced mobility. Ogami finds it ironic that Ino uses a seance technique like hers. Ino realizes the grandson has been transformed via Ogami's seance, as she channels dead spirits into hosts, physically altering them; he senses this opponent is extremely powerful and switches focus, but before summoning **Ryu Ishigori**, the grandson removes his mask in a flash.

The grandson, now resembling **Toji Fushiguro** after Ogami's seance, delivers a devastating chin punch followed by rapid-fire pummels that overpower Ino. Meanwhile, Megumi deduces Awasaka's **Inverse Cursed Technique**, which reverses attack effects—strong strikes become weak, weak ones strong (with a lower damage threshold to avoid trivial harm)—explaining the clean body from heavy hits. Megumi summons a large swarm of **Divine Dogs** hairs to block Awasaka, grabs Yuji, and they retreat briefly.

Yuji and Megumi barrage Awasaka with mixed strong and weak blows while he is staggered, landing effective strikes; Awasaka realizes they have figured him out but forces them back, warning against cockiness. Yuji charges a max-power **Divergent Fist** swing, poised to clash, but halts momentum at the last moment, redirecting into a weak punch that knocks Awasaka unconscious via his own reversed technique. Megumi praises Yuji's refined control, surprising him.
