Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 55: Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Part 2

The episode opens with an extended flashback to Hiromi Higuruma's past as a dedicated lawyer defending a young man named Oe, accused of robbery and murder despite his claims of innocence. Higuruma passionately argues Oe's case in court, highlighting inconsistencies in the prosecution's evidence and the client's lack of motive, but the judge rules against them, sentencing Oe harshly.

Frustrated by the corrupt judicial system and the suffering it causes—even to those he tries to help—Higuruma continues taking on hopeless cases until a curse manifests during one trial, awakening his cursed powers.

He summons a massive shikigami called Judgeman, which pounds its gavel repeatedly; Higuruma demands a retrial for everyone in the courtroom, though the outcome remains unseen.

In the present, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro enter Tokyo No. 1 Colony but are separated and given conflicting information by Kogane: Yuji learns Higuruma (the 100-point player) is in Ikebukuro, while Megumi is told Shinjuku.

Yuji tracks down Higuruma in a courtroom-like setting and pleads with him to use his points to propose a new rule exempting peaceful players from killing, hoping to protect people like Tsumiki.

Higuruma refuses, having abandoned faith in justice after his past; when Yuji aggressively demands his points, Higuruma traps him inside his Domain Expansion, "Deadly Sentencing," accompanied by the imposing Judgeman shikigami.

Meanwhile, Megumi realizes he's been tricked by a girl directing him toward Reggie Star instead of Higuruma; Reggie, recognizing Megumi's strength, approaches him not for a fight but to propose an alliance.

Reggie reveals insight into Kenjaku's true Culling Game plan: not a soul-ferrying ritual, but culling weak sorcerers until only the strongest remain in a stalemate, after which Kenjaku intends to unleash a major hidden "bomb," with a brief ominous hint shown at the end.
