My Hero Academia Episode 112: Tomura Shigaraki: Origin

Tomura Shigaraki’s battle with Re-Destro continues as Shigaraki’s sealed memories begin to return, and the episode shifts back and forth between the fight and the childhood event that shaped him. The episode shows how he went from a frightened boy named Tenko, abandoned after the death of his family, to someone taken in by All For One and taught to accept his destructive instincts.

After the tragedy in his home, Tenko wanders the streets alone, hoping someone will stop to help him, but most people ignore him. A woman briefly speaks to him, but once she sees his unsettling appearance, she says a hero or the police will probably arrive soon and leaves him behind. Tenko comes to believe that being ignored is punishment for killing his family, and he wonders whether his itching would have stopped if someone had simply reached out to him.

All For One then finds Tenko and offers him a helping hand. He takes the boy in and tells him that the source of his itch is an innate desire to destroy, encouraging him to embrace that impulse instead of resisting it. Tenko is later confronted by two street thugs who assault him, and although he seems ready to fight back, he stops himself. That night, now wearing the hands of his family, he confronts the two men again and kills them with his Decay Quirk. All For One praises him for the act and gives him the hands of the men he killed as an additional gift, then names him **Tomura Shigaraki** as part of his “rebirth.”

Back in the present, the fight with Re-Destro intensifies as Shigaraki fully recalls this part of his past and fights with renewed confidence. The episode depicts him unleashing his power against Re-Destro, while the battle escalates around them and Gigantomachia draws closer. The conflict ends with Shigaraki’s overwhelming display of destruction, which forces the situation to shift decisively in his favor.

The episode also shows the aftermath of that clash: the destruction is later disguised as an attack by criminals, and Re-Destro ultimately acknowledges Shigaraki’s strength and transfers leadership to him. Shigaraki then renames the two groups under a new combined organization, the **Paranormal Liberation Front**, and contacts the doctor associated with his past and present plans.
