My Hero Academia Episode 113: The High, Deep Blue Sky
Both sides prepare for the confrontation between the heroes and the Paranormal Liberation Front as Class 1-A finishes their first year of high school.
Full recap
Tomura Shigaraki defeats Re-Destro and takes command of the Meta Liberation Army, which is reorganized into the Paranormal Liberation Front under his leadership. Meanwhile, the heroes and U.A. students are shown preparing for the next stage of conflict, with the episode ending on a note of uneasy calm before the coming battle.
Shigaraki’s fight with Re-Destro is the episode’s main action. After Shigaraki fully unleashes his power, he overwhelms Re-Destro and causes massive destruction around them. Re-Destro is forced to survive by sacrificing his legs, and instead of continuing to resist, he acknowledges Shigaraki’s strength and submits to him. With that, the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army are folded into a new organization, the Paranormal Liberation Front, with Shigaraki at its center and the former leaders serving under him.
Hawks is at the meeting where this new organization is announced, and he realizes too late that the villains have already consolidated their power. He watches as the crowd celebrates Shigaraki’s rise, understanding that his attempt to intervene has failed.
The episode also shifts to U.A. and the students of Class 1-A, who are back together after their work-study period and celebrating the end of the season. The mood is peaceful and reflective, with the students enjoying a brief return to normal life. Deku thinks about how much he has learned and how much more he still needs to understand about One For All, but he does not yet know how little time is left before the coming crisis.
The final stretch emphasizes that both sides are moving toward a larger confrontation: the villains are becoming more organized and dangerous, while the heroes and students are still in a comparatively calm moment. The episode ends by contrasting the bright, open feeling of the students’ gathering with the ominous momentum building among the villains.
