Full recap
The episode centers on the villains’ desperate escape plan and Mr. Compress’s sacrifice, while the heroes struggle to stop them. It also reveals more of Mr. Compress’s backstory and shows how the battlefield changes as the fight reaches its breaking point.
The episode opens in the aftermath of the ongoing battle, with the villains under heavy pressure as the heroes close in. Mr. Compress reflects on his past and remembers that, months earlier, none of the League of Villains had ever asked about his background. He then commits to a bold escape plan to help his allies get away.
Mr. Compress uses his quirk to create an opening for the villains’ retreat, injuring himself in the process so he can free himself and act. He captures Tomura Shigaraki and Spinner inside compressed spheres, and he also helps protect other allies as the heroes keep pressing in. Best Jeanist tries to restrain him, but Mr. Compress keeps pushing forward with his plan.
As the confrontation intensifies, Mr. Compress reveals his face and speaks about his family’s history. He explains that his lineage is connected to a thief who opposed corrupt heroes, and he frames his own actions as part of that inherited will. He then removes his mask and makes it clear that he is carrying out what he sees as his “final performance” to secure his allies’ escape.
Meanwhile, Spinner wakes Tomura, but the situation quickly becomes unstable as Tomura’s body is overtaken and a different presence takes control. The villains begin fleeing, and the heroes are unable to stop the escape despite their efforts. Mr. Compress’s actions allow key villains to break away, even though he is left in a severely damaged state.
The episode also cuts to the wider chaos left by the battle, showing the devastation and the toll the conflict has taken on both sides. In the end, the villains escape the immediate trap, and the heroes are left dealing with the aftermath of the failed capture.
