My Hero Academia Episode 40: Wild, Wild Pussycats

At the League of Villains' hideout, Tomura tells Kurogiri that their master knows where the students are going for the summer. Giran arrives, announcing that a union has approved Tomura's request and expects great things from him and the League, as villains will soon follow their lead. After Giran leaves, Tomura declares that the games are about to begin.

As the first semester at U.A. High School ends, Shota informs his class that their limits will be tested at a summer training camp. Ochaco expresses excitement to Izuku but then nervously backs away, chanting about camping, after remembering something Yuga said about her liking Izuku. Neito appears and taunts Class 1-A about failing their final exams, but Itsuka knocks him out and leads Class 1-B onto their bus. Minoru is excited that Class 1-B's girls will also be at the camp. Tenya has Class 1-A board their bus, and they head to the forest training camp. Shota tries to get his students to focus, but they are too busy fooling around.

Class 1-A arrives on a mountaintop around nine in the morning and meets the pro-hero team, the Wild, Wild Pussycats, who will train them. Izuku excitedly talks about them being great heroes, and Pixie-Bob grabs his head, stating they are young at heart. Mandalay shows the class that the forest lodge is at the base of the mountainside and tells them they must reach it by noon for lunch. The students try to get back on the bus, but Pixie-Bob uses her quirk to spill them over the mountainside and into the Beast's Forest.

Pixie-Bob uses her Quirk to create earth monsters, which the students initially mistake for real animals. One attacks Minoru, and Izuku saves him. Mandalay questions Shota's demanding schedule, and he explains they need to fit a second semester's worth of information into the training. He states that the students will receive permits to use their Quirks, provisional hero licenses, and learn to defend themselves.

Izuku, Shoto, Tenya, and Katsuki work together to quickly destroy one of the earth beasts. Despite more monsters appearing, Class 1-A bands together, combining their Quirks to fight them and race towards the forest lodge. They reach the lodge well after the noon deadline, arriving sometime in the evening.

Class 1-A is exhausted, but the pro-heroes congratulate them. Pixie-Bob takes a particular liking to Izuku, Shoto, Tenya, and Katsuki. Izuku asks about the small boy accompanying them, and Mandalay explains he is Kota, her nephew. Izuku tries to introduce himself, but Kota hits him with a low blow and walks away. Katsuki finds Kota's spunk appealing, and Shoto compares them. Katsuki retaliates, but Shota interrupts, telling the students to get their belongings from the bus and that dinner will follow.

During dinner, Eijiro and Denki enthusiastically enjoy the food, with Denki comparing it to Lunch Rush's cooking. Pixie-Bob explains this is the only time the students will be well-fed during training, so they should enjoy it. After dinner, the students go to the hot springs. Minoru attempts to climb the wall separating the boys' and girls' sides, but Kota stops him. The girls thank Kota, who then turns around and accidentally sees them naked. Shocked, Kota faints and falls over the wall himself.

Izuku saves Kota and takes him to Mandalay. He asks her why Kota seems to disapprove of heroes, as Izuku has never met anyone who dislikes heroes in a world full of them. Mandalay explains that Kota's parents were pro-heroes who died in the line of duty. Kota dislikes heroes because he believes his parents abandoned him, thinking they would not have died if they hadn't been heroes.

The next morning, Shota tells his students that their real training begins now. He has Katsuki throw a ball, similar to the Quirk apprehension test. Katsuki's throw is only four meters farther than at the beginning of the semester. Shota states that while their mental prowess and stamina have improved, their quirks have not. The training camp will push the students to greatly increase their superpowers.

Meanwhile, the League of Villains' new recruits plot their next move. Himiko mentions a shipment of supplies from Tomura, enough for everyone. Dabi states that Tomura is starting to take charge. Dabi then says that the villains will send a warning shot to tear down false heroes and pave the way to a bright new future.
