My Hero Academia Episode 65: Overhaul

Izuku calls Gran Torino to ask about participating in Hero Work-Studies. Gran Torino initially acts as if he doesn't remember Izuku, then calls him a "useless successor." Izuku states he wants to be a useless successor who lives up to All Might. Gran Torino explains he cannot take Izuku on due to working with the police and suggests Izuku ask All Might to introduce him to his old sidekick, Sir Nighteye.

Meanwhile, a character named Twice leads a masked individual known as Overhaul to an abandoned factory to meet with others. Overhaul expresses concern about the dust, but Twice assures him everyone inside is "sick." A character named Tomura recognizes Overhaul as the young boss of the Shie Hassaikai, a yakuza group that another character, All For One, had shown him before. A character named Himiko asks how organized crime differs from the League of Villains.

Another character, Compress, explains that the yakuza once controlled the underworld before the age of heroes, but became nearly extinct and are under constant surveillance after All Might's rise. Overhaul agrees with this assessment of the yakuza's state. A character named Magne asks Overhaul what he wants and if he is emboldened by All Might's retirement. Overhaul states the opposite, revealing his desire to become the "emperor of darkness" now that All For One has fallen.

Overhaul claims society lacks a leader of light or darkness and questions who will lead now. Tomura asserts he will lead and is insulted by Overhaul's question, believing the yakuza knows who Tomura's master is. Tomura declares the League of Villains will crush hero society, but Overhaul asks if they have a plan. Overhaul argues that a goal without a plan is a delusion and criticizes Tomura for wasting "first-class soldiers" like Stain, Muscular, and Moonfish.

Overhaul reveals he has a plan and has come to ask the League of Villains to join him, not the other way around. He states he needs money for his plan and the League of Villains' name to convince dark investors. Overhaul believes he will be the next leader, and Tomura demands he leave immediately.

An enraged Magne refuses to serve under anyone and activates her Quirk on Overhaul. She mentions a friend who inspired her to live without ties. Magne strikes Overhaul with her magnet pole, but he swiftly removes his glove and touches her arm with his finger. Magne's upper body rapidly expands and explodes into a pool of blood, killing her.

Compress attempts to use his Quirk on Overhaul but is struck by a mysterious bullet, rendering his Quirk inactive. Overhaul then destroys Compress's arm. Tomura rushes Overhaul, but a subsequent bullet misses him. Overhaul calls for a shield, and one of his followers appears, sacrificing himself to protect Overhaul.

More members of the Shie Hassaikai then burst through the warehouse wall. Twice expresses certainty that no one followed him, but Tomura suggests it might be someone's Quirk. Overhaul states that both sides have lost one person and suggests they call it even. He asks them to calm down so they can resume discussions another day. Twice and Himiko want to attack Overhaul, but Tomura restrains them.

Overhaul leaves, giving Tomura his card and asking him to call soon. Twice checks on Compress, and Himiko expresses fury over Magne's death. Tomura recalls advice from All For One and considers Overhaul's words to formulate a plan, vowing to demand repayment at their next meeting.

Back at Class 1-A, Shota Aizawa explains the Hero Work-Studies. He mentions that most teachers initially opposed it but will allow students to go to agencies with good reputations. After class, Izuku asks All Might to introduce him to Sir Nighteye. All Might refuses, stating he doesn't believe Izuku necessarily needs to participate and that he is not on good terms with Sir Nighteye.

Izuku asks All Might to reconsider, but All Might still refuses the introduction. Instead, All Might calls a character named Mirio to his office, which is announced over the loudspeaker, surprising the "Big 3." Mirio arrives and asks why All Might needs him to do it, and All Might replies he cannot face Sir Nighteye directly.

Mirio asks Izuku what kind of hero he wants to be, and Izuku replies he wants to be the greatest hero who can win and save everyone. Mirio agrees to help Izuku, believing Sir Nighteye would like him. As the two boys speak, All Might recalls a character named Nezu telling him that Mirio would be his successor.

That weekend, Katsuki and Shoto leave for Provisional Hero License training. Izuku rushes out of the dorms, and Mirio takes him to the Nighteye Agency, an hour away. Mirio warns Izuku that Sir Nighteye is very strict and that Izuku must try to make him laugh before the end of the day, as Sir Nighteye highly values humor. Mirio emphasizes that Izuku must impress him on his own.

A character named Bubble Girl reports to Sir Nighteye about the League of Villains' recent skirmish. Sir Nighteye interrupts her, claiming there is no place for a society without humor. Izuku enters the agency and is surprised to see Sir Nighteye using a tickle machine on Bubble Girl for not making him laugh.

Sir Nighteye glares at Izuku, who attempts to lighten the mood by making his face resemble All Might's. Mirio is shocked by Izuku's plan. Unimpressed, Sir Nighteye does not laugh and asks if Izuku is mocking All Might.
