Full recap

The episode opens in the midst of a hero-vs-villain mock battle training exercise inside a simulated building, where Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka are the heroes tasked with capturing a fake bomb defended by Katsuki Bakugo and Tenya Iida as villains. Bakugo, ignoring Iida's calls for strategy, fixates on confronting Midoriya directly, launching explosive attacks while Midoriya dodges using capturing tape, his knowledge of Bakugo's fighting style from their childhood, and quick maneuvers.

Flashbacks reveal their shared past: Bakugo as the bold ringleader of their neighborhood group with an explosive Quirk, always pushing limits, while Midoriya, quirkless at the time, admired him intensely and analyzed heroes obsessively. In the present, Midoriya stays mostly defensive to avoid overusing his newly acquired power, One For All, which severely damages his body; he sets traps and evades Bakugo's increasingly creative blasts, including a grenade-like arm attack that obliterates part of the building.

Uraraka separates to scout, reporting the bomb's location to Midoriya via radio, but time ticks down with Iida guarding it swiftly. Bakugo taunts Midoriya for seemingly hiding his Quirk since childhood, growing enraged and tunnel-visioned, even berating Iida for trying to intervene. Midoriya struggles internally, haunted by memories that fuel his growth while deepening Bakugo's rage, and briefly considers teaming up with Bakugo and Iida but dismisses it as impossible for Bakugo.

As the clock nears zero, Midoriya activates One For All in a single, calculated strike—not directly at Bakugo, but punching upward through the ceiling, causing massive debris to rain down in a spectacular collapse. This distracts Iida and creates an opening for Uraraka to float the scattered rubble with her zero-gravity Quirk, capturing the exposed fake bomb and securing victory for the heroes just as time expires.

Outside, Class 1-A watches tensely via monitors, with All Might observing but refusing to intervene despite the danger to Midoriya, recognizing the battle's personal importance. Midoriya ends with a broken arm again, shocking his classmates, while Bakugo fumes in defeat, stunned by Midoriya's power and strategy over raw strength.
