Prison Break Episode 13: End of the Tunnel

Lincoln is sent to solitary confinement after a confrontation with a guard, putting the escape plan in jeopardy and forcing Michael to rethink the timing of the breakout. Michael initially wants to delay the escape until he can get Lincoln out of solitary, but the others refuse to wait, and it becomes clear the plan has to move forward that night.

Michael goes to the prison priest, prays for Lincoln, and hands over a crucifix necklace, asking the priest to deliver it to him. When Lincoln receives it in confinement, he opens it and finds a hidden black pill with a note instructing him to take it at 8:10. At the appointed time, Lincoln swallows the pill and soon collapses with severe stomach pain, which gets him taken to the infirmary; Dr. Tancredi believes he has food poisoning.

Meanwhile, the other escapees begin their route through the prison’s pipes toward the area beneath the infirmary, since that is the next step in Michael’s escape path. Once they reach the maintenance space below, Michael discovers that the pipe he had weakened earlier has been replaced with a new one, blocking the route completely. The group tries to force it open with a metal bar and by using leverage from above, but they cannot break through, and the attempt fails noisily.

At the same time, Veronica comes out of hiding and tries to get information that could help Lincoln, but she is too late to get everything she needs before the situation changes. Elsewhere, John Abruzzi has been removed from the prison after being badly injured, leaving only the remaining conspirators to carry out the escape attempt. The episode ends with Michael staring at the repaired pipe in disbelief and admitting that they are not getting out that way.
