Full recap
Michael begins putting the pieces of his escape plan from Sona into motion, while Lincoln quietly deals with a devastating discovery and keeps it from him.
Lincoln opens the box left for him and sees what Susan B. sent, but when he visits Michael he does not reveal what was inside. Michael tells Lincoln to contact Sona’s gravedigger, since he needs that person for the plan, and Lincoln later arranges a meeting, only to learn the gravedigger wants $15,000. Michael also meets with Susan B., who makes it clear that they are pawns in a larger conflict and warns Lincoln through him.
Inside Sona, Michael starts laying groundwork for the breakout by using the prison’s problems and the people around him. When the power supply fails, Lechero orders Michael to fix it, and Michael uses the situation to get access to the area near the fence and the prison’s utilities. He also distracts the increasingly unstable Mahone so he can obtain a black pen for forging documents, and he borrows a crucifix from McGrady.
Sofia visits Whistler and presses him to reveal details of the escape plan, but he does not give her much. She then goes to Lincoln and says she wants to help, and Lincoln tells her and Sucre about the terrible news involving Sara. Sucre also gets a job at Sona connected to the gravedigger, which puts him in position to help with the plan.
Bellick tries to get close to Michael, but instead betrays him by telling Lechero that Michael is planning an escape. Michael manages to convince Lechero that Bellick is lying, and Lechero punishes Bellick harshly. As a result, Michael strengthens his standing with Lechero and continues moving into position for the breakout.
T-Bag kills Lechero’s drug dealer Nieves, then uses the opening to become useful to Lechero by taking over drug distribution inside Sona. T-Bag later gives heroin to Mahone, deepening Mahone’s instability.
By the end of the episode, Michael has advanced his plan, Lincoln is still hiding what he saw in the box, and the prison’s internal power struggles have shifted in Michael’s favor.
