Prison Break Episode 5: English, Fitz or Percy

Michael’s escape plan advances when he realizes he needs to identify which of three surrounding streets will be clear during the prison break, and he tells the others they must choose between **English, Fitz, or Percy**.

At the prison, two federal agents visit Warden Pope and pressure him to transfer Michael out of Fox River by threatening to expose a damaging secret from his past to his wife. Pope initially resists, but the pressure on him continues as the agents make clear they want Michael moved away from Lincoln.

Michael responds by filing a legal motion that delays the transfer, buying himself more time inside Fox River. He then meets with Lincoln, Abruzzi, and Sucre to explain the next step in the plan, and tensions rise because Abruzzi is uneasy about working with Lincoln until Michael makes it clear that Lincoln is his brother. Michael also forces the group to focus on the route decision, using his tattooed forearm as the guide for the three street names.

To continue his preparations, Michael maneuvers around the prison and gets behind the walls to study the outside from the roof. From there, he watches where police cars gather and uses that information to determine which street is likely to be the safest choice.

Outside the prison, Veronica and Nick examine the surveillance tape tied to Lincoln’s case and begin to suspect it has been tampered with. Their investigation makes progress when they learn the tape is fake, but their hope is quickly undercut when the evidence disappears, leaving them with less to work with than before.

By the end of the episode, Michael has made a key breakthrough for the escape plan, but the pressure around his possible transfer and the investigation outside the prison both leave the situation more precarious than before.
