Full recap
Michael and Sucre sabotage the prison’s air-conditioning to trigger a lockdown, giving themselves more uninterrupted time to drill through the wall in Michael’s cell. The plan backfires when the heat pushes the inmates past their breaking point and a full riot erupts before the cells can be secured.
As the prison descends into chaos, the unrest spreads through A-Bay and into other parts of the facility. In the infirmary, the inmates there join the riot after hearing what’s happening elsewhere, and Dr. Sara Tancredi is trapped when violent prisoners overpower the guard and corner her in a room.
Inside the prison, Michael keeps working on the escape route and uses the devil image from his tattoo to calculate the correct drilling point for a section of wall blocking access to a pipe leading toward the infirmary. He then notices Sara’s danger on the surveillance monitors and moves to help her through the ducts.
Meanwhile, Lincoln is being escorted under guard when the riot spills into his area. The escorting guard is overwhelmed, and Lincoln is caught in the confusion as prisoners seize control around him.
The riot also leads T-Bag and other inmates into Michael’s cell area, where they discover the hidden hole behind the wall. That discovery exposes part of Michael’s escape plan and leaves the situation in immediate danger by the end of the episode.
