Full recap
Michael is caught between two escalating pressures: inside Sona, the guards are reinforcing the prison and the inmates are growing more restless, while outside, a Company-backed rescue plan is moving forward without his control.
Michael learns from Lincoln that they have **four days** left, but he reacts angrily because he feels Lincoln used him the way the Company did. Around the prison, Sammy complains to Lechero that the inmates no longer fear them, and he presses for more men to keep control of Sona. Michael also asks Lechero to delay the window-bar repairs because they would make escape harder, but Lechero says he no longer has influence with the Colonel.
At the visitation fence, Gretchen meets with the General, who orders her to move ahead with **“bang and burn”** and use force to end the situation that day. She asks him to reconsider, but he refuses. She then tells Whistler they need to move by **5 p.m.** and later orders him to kill Michael, making it clear that Michael is now in the way of her plan.
Back inside Sona, Michael notices that McGrady has been given new clothes because his father is coming to visit, and Michael later asks him to have his father pass a message to Lincoln: **“Don’t come home for dinner.”** Michael also learns that men are defecting from Sammy’s side, and Sammy wants to bring in a large, unstable inmate named Cristobal to strengthen his group. Lechero agrees to meet with him.
On the outside, Sofia receives a call from a man claiming to be Whistler’s landlord, saying there is a broken pipe in Whistler’s apartment and asking her to come over. One of the Company’s agents is listening to the call. When Sofia receives documents connected to Whistler, she discovers a passport in the name **Gary Miller**, suggesting Whistler is hiding something about his identity. Before she can do anything with it, Gretchen arrives and takes the documents.
Mahone, suffering badly from withdrawal, breaks down in front of Lang and confesses that he killed **Oscar Shales** and turned to drugs because of the guilt. He later fails to help himself in the hearing and is sent back to Sona.
The episode ends with the rescue operation collapsing into violence: the Company attacks Lincoln, Sucre, and Sofia outside, making it clear that they are no longer needed. The “bang and burn” plan begins, Michael catches Whistler in the middle of the chaos, and Gretchen’s attempt to carry out her part of the operation fails. Michael is then taken into custody by Sona authorities over the attempted breakout.
