Prison Break Episode 54: Dirt Nap

Michael, Whistler, Mahone, and Lechero inspect the escape tunnel in Sona, where Michael asks for tools to reinforce it after a section has opened up. Outside the prison, Sammy consolidates power by arming himself and taking control from Lechero, then offers a reward to any inmate who kills Michael.

Inside Sona, T-Bag works to secure his place in the escape plan by pushing Bellick into a fight on Sammy’s behalf, but the arrangement starts to fall apart when the materials Bellick expects to use are no longer available. Michael, Mahone, and Whistler continue working in the tunnel while Lechero remains caught between protecting his authority and avoiding a prison-wide uprising if Michael is killed openly.

Meanwhile, Lincoln and Sofia meet with Osberto to buy a bomb, and Sucre plants it under Gretchen’s car. Gretchen quickly realizes something is wrong and confronts the situation before the plan can succeed, revealing that she has traced the check she gave Sucre and knows where it led.

Back at Sona, Sammy’s men learn where Michael is and rush to the hidden tunnel area. Michael and Mahone end up trapped behind a locked door as Sammy attacks Whistler, who is left exposed near the entrance. To protect Whistler and force Sammy into the tunnel, Michael removes a support wedge; the tunnel collapses, burying Sammy under the debris.

In the confusion, Lechero and Mahone kill Sammy’s three armed followers, and Lechero quickly reasserts control over the prison by showing the inmates Sammy’s body and the bodies of his men. Elsewhere, Mahone receives a picture of his son in the mail, while Sofia searches Whistler’s belongings and finds a suspicious metal briefcase hidden in his bag.
