Reacher Episode 21: Smackdown

Reacher cannot reach Duffy, so he calls Eliot and learns she and Villanueva are checking a lead at a warehouse/tubing facility. Eliot warns them that armed men are coming, but the call triggers a shootout as the men arrive and open fire. Reacher gets there in time to join the fight, helping Duffy and Villanueva survive the ambush and escape, while the last surviving attacker escapes with Reacher before Reacher deliberately strands their pursuit vehicle so they cannot be followed.

At the Beck house, the captive bodyguard kills Eliot and escapes from the safe house. Duffy finds Eliot dead and realizes the escape threatens Reacher’s cover, so she calls Reacher and they quickly improvise a plan to stop the bodyguard before he can reach Beck’s property.

Duffy cuts the power, and Reacher uses Villanueva as bait to draw out and kill the escaping bodyguard before he can warn Beck’s group. Reacher then returns to the house, where Zachary tells him that a search of the house uncovered a hidden phone in the maid’s room and that the maid was secretly working for the ATF. Reacher is also told that Paulie killed her accidentally.

Meanwhile, Quinn’s side reacts to the growing suspicion that law enforcement is watching them. Quinn moves his men into the house after the feds are exposed, and later he punishes Zachary by forcing Richard to play Russian roulette and then having Paulie cut off Zachary’s ear. Reacher, Duffy, and Villanueva continue trying to locate Teresa, and when they question Harley, a member of Zachary’s security team, he says Quinn changed everything after Reacher escaped. They kill Harley and head onward to Los Angeles.
