Reacher Episode 3: Spoonful

Reacher and Roscoe are stuck outside Margrave because flooding has made the roads impassable, but their attempt to ride out the situation at Roscoe’s house is interrupted when they find it broken into and marked with a threat on the door.

Back in the investigation, Reacher and Finlay continue following the murder case and start connecting the dead men to larger local corruption. They question people linked to Kliner Industries, including Kliner himself, who acts like he knows nothing and pushes back against their probing.

The case takes a turn when the medical examiner identifies the second body as Pete Joblin, a trucker connected to South Freight Shipping. That clue helps Reacher and Finlay narrow their focus, while Reacher also learns that Joe had been working on a covert counterfeiting investigation in Margrave.

Roscoe receives a call from Secret Service agent Molly Beth Gordon, who had been trying to follow up on Joe’s work. The conversation is emotionally loaded because the agent initially thinks she is speaking to Joe’s colleague rather than hearing that Joe is dead, and the call confirms that Joe had been involved in a secret assignment tied to counterfeit money.

Roscoe is also approached with disturbing information about Reacher, including an accusation that he murdered civilians while serving in Iraq. That rumor deepens the tension around him and affects how others in Margrave begin to view him.

Meanwhile, the pressure on the investigation keeps mounting. Finlay runs into trouble while pursuing leads, and the episode shows how dangerous it has become for anyone digging too deeply into the missing-man and murder cases.

By the end of the episode, Reacher is being watched by armed pursuers in the dark and rain. He recognizes the danger, leads them away, and turns the hunt around on them, setting up a violent confrontation as the episode closes.
