Rick and Morty Episode 34: One Crew Over the Crewcoo's Morty
Lots of twists and turns this time, broh. Wear your helmets.
Full recap
Rick and Morty go to an alien temple to retrieve a valuable crystal, but they find the place has already been robbed and the thief has left a calling card. Rick becomes obsessed with tracking down the thief, a flashy heist artist named Miles Knightley, and the search leads them to a heist convention where entry requires having a crew.
To get inside, Rick quickly assembles a ragtag team and then abandons them once they have served their purpose. He confronts Miles at the convention, and the two settle into an escalating rivalry built around increasingly elaborate plans and counterplans. Rick unveils a heist-planning robot of his own, which starts taking the logic of heists too far and pushes the situation into chaos.
As the episode spirals, Rick is forced to deal with the robot’s runaway ambitions and the mess created by everyone trying to outdo one another with more complicated schemes. In the end, Rick uses a deliberately random counter-strategy to defeat the heist machine and ends the conflict, while Morty’s own interest in writing a heist story becomes part of the episode’s final joke.
