Rick and Morty Episode 59: Analyze Piss

Rick is exhausted by the stream of random, low-rent villains who keep showing up to fight him, especially after another run-in with Mr. Nimbus. Morty pushes him to figure out why this keeps happening, so Rick goes to Dr. Wong for therapy, and she tells him the simplest solution is to stop engaging with these people and prove, with evidence, that ignoring them works.

Rick initially tries to follow that advice, but when a crude new villain named Pissmaster comes to the Smith house and starts humiliating the family, especially with a disgusting remark aimed at Summer, Jerry snaps and steps in himself. Jerry beats Pissmaster badly in front of the neighbors, and the footage of the incident spreads quickly, turning Jerry into an unlikely local hero.

The praise goes further than Rick expects: Jerry is approached by an intergalactic council of heroes and presented with an orb of power, which starts elevating Jerry while Rick grows annoyed and jealous. At the same time, Dr. Wong points out that Rick has effectively done what she asked by refusing to keep fighting every random challenger.

Rick then decides to check on Pissmaster and is horrified to find that Pissmaster has died by suicide, leaving a note that blames Jerry. Rick takes Pissmaster’s suit and begins using it himself to do a series of heroic acts, apparently trying to reshape how people see the villain and to cover what happened.

Meanwhile, Jerry’s new status becomes unstable when the heroes’ council expects him to formally grant Pissmaster an orb of power. Jerry tries to act the part of a hero, but his behavior undermines him, and the council ultimately rejects him and revokes the offer.

Rick later lies to the family and claims he was Pissmaster the whole time, which they accept in the moment despite the obvious confusion. Once they get home, Rick privately shows Morty the real suicide note, and Morty immediately tells the rest of the family. The episode ends with the family berating Rick for hiding the truth, while Jerry is left horrified that his fight with Pissmaster led to someone dying by suicide.
