Rick and Morty Episode 67: Rickfending Your Mort

Morty finds Rick in a drunken, depressed state in the garage and tries to cheer him up by redeeming a stack of homemade “Morty Adventure Cards” for an adventure. Rick thinks Morty is exaggerating how many adventures they’ve had, so he demands an audit of the cards and summons a rock-like cosmic being who can verify their exploits. The being begins replaying clips from their lives and starts deciding which ones count as real adventures, but the process quickly becomes obnoxious because it keeps dragging up embarrassing moments and disputed memories.

As the audit continues, Rick and Morty argue with the Observer over what qualifies as an adventure, with some clips being rejected, others accepted, and the whole process becoming less about verification and more about irritation. The Observer then escalates things by showing humiliating footage that stirs up more conflict between Rick, Morty, and the rest of the family. Frustrated, Rick and Morty decide to stop fighting the system and agree to cash in the cards at a reduced value just to get rid of the Observer’s interference.

The situation spirals further when the Observer keeps pushing and the dispute turns into a formal judgment on Rick and Morty’s behavior. Rick eventually tricks the Observers by exploiting their own technology, which throws their process into chaos. The resulting breakdown gives Rick and Morty a chance to escape, and they return home.

Back at the garage, Rick admits that Morty was really just trying to help cheer him up and appreciates the gesture. Morty and Rick agree to act as if the whole ordeal never happened, and they head off together to use the cards and go on another adventure.
