Rick and Morty Episode 69: Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie

Morty is in math class with Mr. Goldenfold when Water-T arrives and pulls the class into a galaxy-spanning rescue mission. Water-T explains that his home, Alphabetrium, is under attack by the Numbericons, and he needs Goldenfold’s help to decipher a mysterious artifact called the I of Harmony.

The episode opens with Water-T being welcomed back by several letter-people after an earlier exile. Almost immediately, the Numbericons attack Alphabetrium in giant calculator-like ships, and Water-T’s father is killed in the chaos. That search leads him to Mr. Goldenfold, his former teacher, and Morty gets dragged along into the conflict.

Goldenfold, Water-T, and Morty travel through the war zone and continue trying to understand the relic while the Numbericons pursue them. Along the way, the episode makes clear that the artifact and its hidden message are central to stopping the battle. Goldenfold gradually proves more useful than expected when it comes to math, and the group pushes closer to unlocking the relic’s meaning.
