Ted Lasso Episode 31: La Locker Room Aux Folles

Ted is unavailable for a press conference, so Rebecca asks Roy to handle it, but Roy backs out and makes Beard do it instead, which goes badly. Meanwhile, Colin and Isaac’s strained relationship worsens after Isaac discovers Colin is gay and starts avoiding him. At training, Colin tries to approach Isaac, but Isaac keeps shutting him out.

Richmond plays Brighton, and the first half ends with Brighton ahead 1–0. Isaac repeatedly snaps at Colin during the match, including after Colin misses an important pass. As the team heads into halftime, a fan in the stands hurls a homophobic slur at Richmond, and Isaac reacts by charging into the crowd and attacking the fan. He is shown a red card and sent off.

Back in the locker room, the team pieces together that Isaac may be gay, and Colin then comes out to the group. The players respond with support. Later, Roy speaks privately with Isaac and tells him he needs to deal with his anger before it takes over his life.

With Isaac gone, Richmond reshuffles and Colin plays the rest of the match with renewed confidence, turning in his best performance of the season and helping set up a 2–1 comeback win. After the game, Colin and Isaac finally talk honestly: Isaac says he felt hurt because Colin never opened up to him, while Colin says he was afraid Isaac might not accept him. Colin decides not to come out publicly, choosing instead to remain out only to the team, and the two friends reconcile.

Separately, Jade visits Nate at work and meets Rupert. Later, Rupert invites Nate to a “guys’ night out” after the game, but when Nate arrives at the bar he finds Rupert with two women already there. Nate quietly leaves and goes to see Jade instead.
