Ted Lasso Episode 7: Make Rebecca Great Again

AFC Richmond travels to Liverpool for an away match against Everton, while Rebecca struggles with the anniversary of her divorce and Ted quietly wrestles with his own divorce papers. The episode follows both threads through a tense, funny, and emotional weekend that ends with a big win, a karaoke celebration, and several personal breakthroughs.

The team prepares to leave for Liverpool knowing they have not beaten Everton in decades, and Ted is already distracted by the divorce papers he has been asked to sign. Rebecca decides to go to Liverpool too, bringing Keeley along on a private jet so she does not spend the weekend alone with her feelings. Once there, Rebecca and Keeley spend time together, and Rebecca’s old friend Flo “Sassy” Collins joins them; Sassy and Ted also meet at the hotel, and she immediately takes a liking to him.

Ted’s own stress builds when he sees Nate slipping football suggestions under his hotel room door. He snaps at Nate, then apologizes the next morning and asks to hear Nate’s ideas. Ted also asks Nate to deliver a pre-game speech to the team. Nate’s speech is unexpectedly cutting, mocking the players’ weaknesses in a way that shocks them, but it lands as a motivating challenge and fires the team up.

In the match, Richmond finally beats Everton 1–0, with Roy scoring the winning goal. Afterward, the team celebrates at a karaoke bar, where Rebecca sings “Let It Go” and impresses everyone with her performance. During the night, Sassy reveals that she came to support Rebecca on the anniversary of her divorce, and she and Rebecca talk through some of their history and hurt.

Ted is overwhelmed during the karaoke celebration and has a panic attack, then leaves the bar. Rebecca finds him outside, comforts him, and offers to take him back to the hotel, but he insists he can manage on his own. Back at the hotel, Ted finally signs his divorce papers. Roy also ends the evening by accompanying Keeley to her room and kissing her before leaving. The episode ends with Sassy coming to Ted’s room and entering after he opens the door.
